Unit Objectives
Main Focus: to educate students on proper form,
technique, rules, and scoring used in bowling. To promote a life long
activity.
Safety: remove all jewelry, no gum chewing, spatial awareness,
pin setters must stand against the wall when a student is bowling, pin setters
must roll the bowling balls back to the bowlers, bowlers must practice by
performing medium force, controlled rolls

Psychomotor:
the
student will demonstrate proper ball rolling skills by:
1.
applying proper bio-mechanics
2.
two and three step approaches
3.
displaying correct form and technique
4.
final step performed by opposite
(non-dominant) foot, arm swing with dominant hand, palm up, wrist locked, bend
at the knees and waist, aim, and follow through
5.
effort and participation
Cognitive:
the
student will show an understanding of the mechanics of the
proper ball roll and keeping score by using frames by:
1.
assessing his/her daily performance during the unit
2.
understanding the mechanics of a
proper ball roll, knowing the pin set up, bowling as a life long activity

using the frames, how to tally a strike and a spare
