Fitness Tests

Curl Ups
     measures abdominal muscle strength and endurance
     low levels are associated with bad posture and back pain in later years

Modified Sit and Reach
     measures flexibility of back and hamstrings
     causes less forward rotation of the pelvis which reduces disc compression in the lower back

Push Ups
     measures upper body strength and endurance
     required for people of all ages to perform daily living and recreational activities with vigor and undue
     fatigue

Mile Run/Walk
     measures cardio respiratory or aerobic endurance
     a good indicator of the ability of the circulatory and respiratory systems to supply oxygen to functioning
     muscles
