Flag Football

 

I. Skills

a.      Class Name: grades 6 - 8

b.      Skill Level: Control to utilization

c.      Length of Time: 40 minutes

d.      Number of Meetings: 1

e.      Major Focus: to educate students on proper form, technique, and skills used in Flag Football activities.  To promote a healthy lifestyle and life long activity.

II. Safety

a.      Activity: remove all jewelry, no gum chewing, spatial awareness, control when throwing the Football, NO Interference with other students

III. Equipment

a.      12 - 15 footballs

B.     pinnies (# depends on class size)

C.     flags & belts

D.     cones

IV. Objectives

a.      Psychomotor: proper form and technique while performing various offensive football skills, applying proper biomechanics while throwing and catching, running the correct pass patterns

b.      Cognitive: understanding the benefits of physical activity, how football related activities can promote a healthy lifestyle, physical activity as a life long process, student assessment

c.      Affective: encouragement, advice, peer teaching, cooperation with a partner or small group

            pass patterns (out, slant, hitch, post, corner, fly)
